In the midst of a fast-evolving crypto landscape where signal is often buried beneath noise, a new AI-powered platform is betting that the future of Web3 investing lies in personalization—and intelligence that adapts in real time.
TrueNorth, a Singapore-based startup founded by former WOO COO Willy Chuang and AI specialist Alex Lee, has quietly raised a $1 million angel round to build what they call crypto’s “first agentic discovery engine.” Backed by heavyweights from LayerZero, SEI, Selini Capital, and Plume, the project is taking a fundamentally different approach to how users navigate the chaotic world of decentralized markets.
At the heart of TrueNorth’s system is a set of autonomous AI agents trained to scan across blockchains, social platforms, macroeconomic signals, and individual project data. But rather than dump that information on users, the system distills it into insights tailored to the user’s portfolio, behavior, and trading tendencies. “We’re not just showing data,” said co-founder Willy Chuang. “We’re shaping decisions—quietly and efficiently, behind the scenes.”
It’s an ambitious attempt to reduce the cognitive overload that has plagued even seasoned crypto investors. With thousands of tokens, constant market churn, and a growing pile of on-chain and off-chain data sources, decision-making has become more difficult than ever. “The market isn’t just moving faster,” Chuang noted. “It’s becoming more fragmented. You need systems that not only see it all—but also know what you care about.”
The system is currently in closed beta, operating under the radar with a cohort of 500 early testers known as “Truthsayers.” These users are helping the team stress-test its infrastructure, refine its generative interface, and train the feedback loops that drive the AI models. Unlike most data dashboards, TrueNorth’s frontend evolves with each user—learning over time what signals to prioritize and how to adapt as trading styles shift.
While most crypto data platforms focus on aggregation, TrueNorth is playing the long game: interpretation. Alex Lee, who holds a PhD in AI and previously worked as a tech investor at Temasek, emphasized that the system goes beyond standard analytics. “This isn’t about charts and ratios,” he said. “It’s about context. We’re building agents that understand a user’s intent and move them toward an outcome—with minimal friction.”
That pitch has attracted a notable group of backers. Among the angel investors are Bryan Pellegrino of LayerZero, Jeff Feng of SEI, Jordi Alexander of Selini Capital, and Yongjin from Presto Labs—each representing a different piece of the Web3 puzzle, from cross-chain infrastructure to algorithmic finance. Their interest suggests a broader industry appetite for tools that can make the crypto space feel less like an information firehose and more like a personal assistant.
There’s also a hint of long-term vision here. TrueNorth isn’t just a tool for retail traders looking for a market edge. It’s positioning itself as infrastructure for the so-called “agentic economy,” where smart systems interact directly with protocols, make autonomous decisions, and unlock new layers of capital efficiency. That vision is still early—but the architecture is being built now.
Over the coming months, TrueNorth plans to open its doors to a wider audience. The team will release details on its AI agent architecture, data aggregation layers, and reinforcement learning models designed to evolve alongside market conditions. It won’t be a flashy launch—it’s not supposed to be. As the founders say, it’s about building quietly, thoughtfully, and in sync with users who demand more than just alerts and analytics.
In a space where the loudest projects often win the spotlight, TrueNorth is making a bet on depth, nuance, and real intelligence. And in 2025, that might be exactly what crypto needs.
