Hetu, one of the earliest pioneers in decentralized science (DeSci) and on-chain financial infrastructure, has just unveiled Hetu 3.0 an Ethereum-based AI-native monetary system designed to do something ambitious: turn verified intelligence into programmable capital.
In plain terms, Hetu is trying to bridge the gap between the AI economy and the crypto world and in the process, create what it calls “society-owned AI money.”
The Foundation: Ethereum-Powered, AI-Native Money Stack
Hetu 3.0 runs directly on Ethereum and introduces a three-layer system where verified intelligence can be transformed into liquid, tradable value.
At its core is $HETU, a fair-launched, deflationary token with a hard cap of 21 million serving as the base asset that anchors liquidity and credit across the network. Think of it as Bitcoin for AI cognition.
Layered on top is $AIUSD, a stablecoin designed for ultra-fast, zero-fee transactions. It’s backed by AI infrastructure revenue and offers yields between 8–12%, powering both human and AI-driven payments.
Completing the loop is $FLUX, a token that records and rewards verified contributions in real time through a mechanism called Proof of Causal Work (PoCW). This system captures proof, credit, and reputation into one on-chain standard essentially, a financial language for verified intelligence.
All three tokens work together: verified work generates $FLUX, which settles through $AIUSD, feeding into $HETU’s long-term store of value. It’s a fully auditable system that turns intelligence itself into an economy.
A New Type of AI Money Owned by the Network, Not Nations
Hetu’s vision goes beyond just another DeFi or AI integration. It aims to redefine what “sovereign money” means replacing national or corporate control with a decentralized network of verified intelligence.
In this model, new money isn’t created through scarcity or power it’s issued through verified understanding. In other words, intelligence becomes currency.
“By tying issuance to verified causal work rather than artificial scarcity, Hetu makes value a direct expression of verified understanding,” said Jialin Li, Co-Founder of Hetu Protocol. “This is about building a monetary system that reflects truth, not hierarchy.”
Bridging Ethereum Liquidity and AI Productivity
A major technical piece of Hetu 3.0 lies in two new standards: EIP-8004 and X402. Together, they allow Ethereum’s massive liquidity base to flow directly into AI-native yield systems.
EIP-8004 enables on-chain agent identities and verifiable settlements, while X402 channels ETH and stablecoin liquidity into productive AI work with $AIUSD handling real-time payments and $FLUX tokenizing future earnings.
This combination creates an on-chain cashflow network where capital can fund verified AI activity turning liquidity into a living, self-sustaining ecosystem.
From Scarcity to Understanding
Traditional finance was built on scarcity limited supply, ownership, and competition. Hetu’s model starts from the opposite idea: abundance through verified cognition.
Proof of Causal Work (PoCW) rewards meaningful reasoning and verified results, while Proof of Semantic Alignment (PoSA) ensures AI outputs stay aligned with human intent and truth. Together, they create a system where liquidity flows toward meaning, not speculation.
In this world, understanding itself becomes yield.
The Bigger Picture
Hetu 3.0 isn’t just an upgrade it’s a statement about where money might go next. By merging verified intelligence, programmable capital, and on-chain governance, Hetu envisions a financial system that grows through understanding rather than control.
“Hetu bridges Ethereum liquidity with the AI economy enabling autonomous agents to verify outputs, transact instantly, and finance future work,” Li said. “Money is evolving into a living language of intelligence.”
